BASIC FUNCTION (the primary purpose of this position):

Directly supervises bartenders, bar backs, cocktail leads, cocktail servers, and gaming floor beverage servers during an assigned shift to ensure proper guest relations and adherence to relevant F&B department policies and procedures, Gaming Commission Directives and OLCC mandates. This is a "hands-on" position often requiring the individual to be in direct service of our guests. The Beverage Supervisor also provides assistance to other departments as needed.

PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Promote a clean, safe, healthy and friendly work environment for employees and guests; reports safety issues to Safety Committee.
  • Ensure daily stocking and monitors the need for ordering of goods for Warehouse 101 - bar and dining area, Slot Beverage and Lobby Bar.
  • Provide leadership and support to the Beverage team, offering a fun, friendly atmosphere in a professional manner.
  • Multi-task in a busy atmosphere troubleshooting guest issues and ensuring strict compliance through visibility of OLCC standards and guidelines.
  • May introduce entertainers in W101 and handle non-routine operational tasks associated with entertainment events.
  • Monitor the needs of our guests and develops plans with the Beverage Manager and co-Supervisor(s) by continually assessing guest service standards and department goals of service, value and consistency.
  • Work closely with Beverage Manager addressing coaching and corrective actions regarding Beverage team members.
  • Assist Beverage Manager with measuring and controlling departmental costs and revenues with sound business tactics.
  • During closing shifts or as needed, assist in formulating, installing and following procedures for opening and closing the beverage outlets. This includes diverse procedures as cashiering, guest service cleanliness and stewardship.
  • Assist in developing subordinate evaluations based on performance standards as prescribed by job descriptions.
  • Assist in resolving employee conflict and assure team compliance with gaming and management practices.
  • Review departmental policies and procedures, OLCC mandates and Gaming Directives; assuring compliance with regulatory and management practices.
  • Run the shift performing all required managerial duties (including but not limited to signing for tenders and closing out cashiers and resolving guest issues).
  • Other job duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • GED or HS Diploma required.
  • Two years supervisory experience in a food service environment demonstrating good people handling skills.
  • Three years or more bartending experience required.
  • Must be able to read and comprehend verbal and written instructions.
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Must have valid OLCC service permit and working knowledge of OLCC regulations.
  • ServeSafe certification required or must have the ability to become certified within 90 days of employment.
  • Previous experience in hospitality field with demonstrated excellent customer service abilities.
  • Must have valid Food Handler's card and meet health, safety, and sanitation standards at all times.
  • Must pass and remain in compliance with Coquille Gaming Commission background check and TMCH drug-free work place policies.
  • Demonstrate ability to successfully navigate the POS system and accurately manage a cash bank, credit card activity, and balance with corresponding paperwork at the end of your shift.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform duties with a minimum of supervision and handle multiple priorities and tasks.
  • Ability to manage stress appropriately, to make decisions under pressure, to manage anger, fear, hostility and violence of others appropriately.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT (The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Ability to work weekends, holidays, and evening hours as business demands. While performing duties of this position, employee is required to stand for extended periods, and frequently walk, and use hands; to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. frequently, bend, twist, reach and be otherwise physically limber as duties necessitate. Occasionally sit. Ability to manage stress appropriately, make decisions under pressure, manage fear, hostility and violence f others appropriately. The casino work environment may expose you to second hand smoke on a regular basis.
