Job summary

Compass Group USA is seeking a Barback in Running Springs, CA. You will support bartenders, assist with opening/closing, restock garnishes, and help ensure excellent guest service. Must be 21+ to serve alcohol and be available for evenings, weekends, and major holidays.

Compensation includes hourly wage plus tips. Starting at $19/hour with a mandatory tip split, this position offers hands-on experience in a dynamic bar environment and opportunities to learn about operations and customer service

Qualifications

• Must be 21+ to serve alcohol.
• Able to lift 150+ pounds (full-size keg).
• Entry-level bar/restaurant experience preferred.
• Experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Customer service oriented with a positive attitude and good communication.
• Must hold Jerry Jolly Responsible Alcohol Service Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Greets, directs and responds to guest questions and needs in a timely manner.
• Interact with the customers while tidying up tables, counters and other bar areas.
• Assist in clearing tables and the serving areas of dust and debris in the summer and snow in the winter.
• Change out beer kegs and replace liquor and beer bottles.
• Restock bar with straws, coasters and napkins.
• Remove trash and clean up drink spills.
• Responsible for keeping venue clean and organized per company standards.
• Refill ice bins.
• Clean/restock rags throughout the shift.
• Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies as needed.
• Ensure the venue is always Show Ready.
• Comply with all County and Company food and beverage regulations.

Mandatory Tip Split Position

If you’re interested in kickstarting your career in the hospitality industry, this is a great opportunity to get first‑hand experience of how a bar operates.

We are looking for a Barback to support our Bartenders and the rest of our staff. You’ll assist with bar opening and closing procedures and perform various behind‑the‑bar tasks, such as restocking the bar and assisting in the preparing of garnishes.

Ultimately, you’ll help ensure that our guests receive excellent customer service and enjoy their time at our venues.

To be considered for this role, you should be legally authorized to work in a bar where alcoholic beverages are served and consumed. You should also be available to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends and major holidays. Compensation includes hourly wage and tips.
