Job summary

Compass Group USA is seeking a Barback to support bartenders and staff at our venues in Big Bear Lake, CA. You’ll assist with opening/closing procedures, restock the bar, and help prepare garnishes for service.

Weekends and holidays are required. Starting at $19/hour with tips, you’ll work varied shifts and contribute to a fast-paced environment that emphasizes guest service and cleanliness.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old to serve open container alcohol.
• Ability to lift 150+ pounds with full-size keg.
• Experience in a fast-paced bar/restaurant environment.
• Jerry Jolly Responsible Alcohol Service Certificate is required.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and respond to questions in a timely manner.
• Interact with customers while tidying tables, counters and bar areas.
• Clear tables and serving areas of dust and debris in summer and snow in winter.
• Change out beer kegs and replace liquor/beer bottles.
• Restock bar with straws, coasters and napkins.
• Remove trash and clean up spills.
• Keep venue clean and organized per company standards.
• Refill ice bins.
• Clean/restock rags during shift.
• Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies as needed.
• Ensure the venue is show-ready at all times.
• Comply with county and company food and beverage regulations.

Job description

We are looking for a Barback to support our Bartenders and the rest of our staff. You’ll assist with bar opening and closing procedures and perform various behind-the-bar tasks, such as restocking the bar and assisting in the preparing of garnishes.

Ultimately, you’ll help ensure that our guests receive excellent customer service and enjoy their time at our venues.

To be considered for this role, you should be legally authorized to work in a bar where alcoholic beverages are served and consumed. You should also be available to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends and major holidays. Compensation includes hourly wage and tips.

Weekends and Holidays are a Requirement.

Responsibilities

• Greets, directs and responds to guest questions and needs in a timely manner

• Assist in clearing tables and the serving areas of dust and debris in the summer and snow in the winter
• Change out beer kegs and replace liquor and beer bottles
• Restock bar with straws, coasters and napkins
• Remove trash and clean up drink spills
• Responsible for keeping venue clean and organized per company standards
• Refill ice bins
• Clean/restock rags throughout the shift
• Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies as needed
• Ensure the venue is always Show Ready
• Comply with all County and Company food and beverage regulations
