Position Summary

The Bar Back is responsible for supporting the bartender by restocking products to ensure the bar remains fully stocked during events, while adhering to all policies and procedures regarding alcohol service. The employee must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work scheduled events based on business needs.

This role offers an hourly rate between $19.00, plus tips.

About the Venue

Rhubarb Hospitality Collection (RHC) is a renowned luxury restaurant group known for creating exceptional dining experiences in prestigious locations worldwide. Founded over 23 years ago in London, RHC has expanded to New York City with PEAK, located on the 101st floor of 30 Hudson Yards. In 2024, RHC became the exclusive F&B provider to the Kimmel Cultural Campus, with Curtain Call Lounge opening in January 2025, featuring a full bar, craft cocktails, and a small plate menu.

Responsibilities

1. Stock products for the bar, including non-alcoholic beverages, alcoholic beverages, ice wells, and supplies such as fruit, napkins, cups, utensils, and stirrers.
2. Ensure equipment is operational and clean before events.
3. Maintain cleanliness of the bar and surrounding areas following sanitation procedures, including mopping floors, cleaning mats, emptying trash, and keeping storage areas organized. The 4K TCL Bar and Sky Club are high-profile locations that require meticulous upkeep.
4. Recognize guests who are visibly intoxicated and alert bartenders accordingly.
5. Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas.
6. Demonstrate excellent attendance as per company standards.

Qualifications

• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.
• Excellent communication skills with employees, management, and guests in a respectful, professional manner.
• Valid food handling certificate and alcohol service permit, if required by regulations.
• Basic math skills for inventory management.
• Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking).
• Experience in high-volume bar environments preferred.
