Position: Casual Bar Assistant

We are seeking enthusiastic Casual Bar Assistants to work at our site in NZDF - Waiouru.

About Waiouru

Waiouru is located on the southeastern North Island Volcanic Plateau, 130 km north of Palmerston North and 25 km south-east of Mount Ruapehu. It is close to Taupo and Ohakune, with stunning scenery including Tongariro and Whanganui National Parks. The community is vibrant with numerous events and activities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Providing responsible service of alcohol
2. Delivering professional customer service
3. Responding to customer requests in a friendly and timely manner
4. Handling cash and EFTPOS transactions
5. Assisting with bar operations, including preparing for service, taking orders, and serving drinks and meals
6. Conducting stocktaking, replenishing supplies, and maintaining cleanliness of the bar area

Ideal Candidate

Our ideal candidate is hardworking, friendly, outgoing, and has a positive attitude. You should have at least one year of experience in a similar role, be articulate and organized, and able to handle multiple demands. Food safety certificates (Unit Standards 167 and 168) are preferred but can be obtained through training. Bar experience is advantageous, but most importantly, you should have a passion for food, customer service, and quality.
