Mondrian South Beach seeks a part-time seasonal Banquet Server/Bartender to assist in set-up and serving of food and beverages for banquet events at the Miami Beach hotel.

Under the Banquets Manager, you will prepare beverages, maintain service quality, and engage guests with a warm, professional demeanor while supporting efficient events throughout the venue.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent education required.
• Two years experience as Banquet bartender in full-service restaurant or hotel is required.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the general guidance of the Banquets Manager, assist in ensuring all duties and responsibilities for the set-up and serving of food and beverages to guests at all banquet functions, according to the hotel standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Prepare beverages for guests in a timely manner and up to hotel standards.
• Ensure consistent beverage preparation, presentation and quality
• Exercise good judgments in determining potentially intoxicated guests
• Maintain good coordination while preparing and serving orders quickly
• Interact with guests and patrons
• Ensure all working areas are maintained in a clean and hygienic condition at all times
• Understand the operational set up and principle of the restaurant or lounge
• Maintain knowledge of all menus within the hotel
• Maintain stock and supplies of the banquet Maintain up to date and accurate knowledge of all Food and Beverage.
• Set up stations and do side jobs to ensure adequate mis-en-place.
• Provide a genuine warm and caring service to guests.
• Set up events within the required time.
• Maintain the Room Service and Events equipment and area in an organized and clean condition at all times.
• Maintain good communication with all team members and guests.
• Perform all other duties as requested.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Most work tasks are performed indoors. Temperature is moderate and controlled by hotel environmental systems; however, must be able to work in extreme temperatures like freezers (-10°F) and kitchens (+110°F), possibly for one hour or more.
• Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 4 hours in length.
• Must be able to exert well-paced ability to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneously.
• Must be able to exert well-paced ability to reach other departments of the hotel on a timely basis.
• Must be able to lift trays of food or food items weighing up to 30 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
• Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs. frequently.
• Must be able to exert well-paced ability in limited space and to reach other locations of the hotel on a timely basis.
• Must be able to exert well-paced ability in limited space.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks.
• Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening, and hearing ability and visual acuity.
• Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors, and subordinates.
• Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
• Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.

Education:

High school or equivalent education required.

Experience:

Two to three (2-3) years of as a Banquet Server within hotel or full-service restaurant industry experience or equivalent. Costumer service experience preferred.
