Job summary

Omni Hotels & Resorts in Florida is seeking a Banquet Steward to support banquet events by transporting equipment and food and maintaining cleanliness across service areas and storage spaces. The role requires hands-on food and beverage knowledge, strong customer service, and the ability to stand for extended periods.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Transport equipment and food/beverage to functions per hotel standards.
• Replenish kitchen line with clean pots, plates, and miscellaneous china.
• Establish dish-out and breakdown stations for all banquet events; assist with dishwashing as needed.
• Ensure health, safety, and sanitation standards; prep for health department and Ecosure inspections.
• Clean and sanitize ice machines.
• Maintain cleanliness in food prep areas, refrigeration, storage, and service areas.
• Clean and sanitize shelving, carts, and trash receptacles.
• Perform other duties as required by senior management.

Banquet Steward

Overview

The Banquet Steward is responsible for transporting all equipment and food/beverage to functions in accordance with hotel standards. The Steward comprehends the food and beverage operation and prioritizes cleanliness of food preparation and service areas.

Responsibilities

• Responsible to replenish kitchen line with clean pots, plates, and misc. china.
• Responsible to assist with banquet plate ups as directed.
• Establish dish out and breakdown stations for all banquet events. Assist with dishwashing as needed.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation awareness standards. Prepare daily for health department and Ecosure inspections.
• Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing ice machines.
• Ensure upkeep, safety and cleanliness in food preparation areas, refrigeration, storage areas, food and beverage service areas, hallways, corridors, and storerooms.
• Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing all food & beverage shelving, carts, and trash receptacles.
• Perform any other duties required by senior management.

Qualifications

• The Candidate must have hands-on food and beverage knowledge and a comprehensive, working knowledge of the hospitality business.
• A minimum of relevant stewarding experience in a large convention hotel is strongly preferred.
• Highly developed customer service skills; possessing a friendly approachable demeanor and strong problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
• Must have the ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop growing talent for the company.
