Banquet Supervisor Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintain quality, service, and operating standards to ensure consistency.
  • Supervise day-of-banquet operations, including team communication, scheduling, and policy enforcement.
  • Ensure rooms are set up and service is delivered according to guest expectations and banquet event orders. Conduct pre-function meetings, inspect setups, and ensure cleanliness and proper layout.
  • Coordinate with kitchen staff on menu details, delivery times, and technical needs such as AV equipment.
  • Greet guests, respond to requests and complaints professionally, and implement service recovery guidelines to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Review guest checks with clients post-event and obtain signatures.
  • Maintain procedures for inventory security, financial transactions, and supplies replenishment to minimize waste and misuse.
  • Prepare banquet equipment and facilities for upcoming events, ensuring cleanliness and proper stocking.
  • Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication with other departments.
  • Meet educational and experience requirements: a high school diploma or GED, at least 1 year of banquet and F&B operations experience, including supervisory roles.
  • Must speak fluent English and demonstrate leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

The Banquet Supervisor position requires the ability to perform the following:

  • Handle items weighing up to 75 pounds.
  • Move about the function areas and outlet(s).
  • Bend, stoop, stand, and kneel as required.
  • Withstand climate temperature changes in the work area.
