**PRIMARY PURPOSE:**
It is the primary responsibility of the Banquet Manager to oversee all aspects of day-to-day banquet services.
**PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**
+ Manages assigned operational functions within the department consistent with the strategic plan and vision for the department, the division and Bellagio.
+ Manages and oversees operations of cash concessions and snack bars on the tradeshow floor
+ Works closely with Catering Manager regarding servicing of events.
+ Attends preplanning meetings with Catering Manager for upcoming Groups
+ Works directly with Banquet Supervisors and Assistant Managers on staffing ratios, room lay outs, and operation of events, menu implementation and operation of events.
+ Oversees the Assistant Managers and Banquet Supervisors and ensures they are following department and hotel policies and procedures and adhering to the collective bargaining agreement.
+ Reviews Banquet Event Orders and has a complete understanding of the events as planned by the client and catering manager which is shared with the Banquet Supervisors and Managers handling events.
+ Manages and participates in the ordering and inventory control of consumable products and some equipment while maintaining an acceptable COG.
+ Manages the delivery and measurement of guest service within assigned department(s) consistent with the company’s core service standards and brand attributes.
+ Creates a work environment that promotes teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect and employee satisfaction; quality hiring, training and succession planning processes that encompass the company’s diversity commitment; compliance with company policies, legal requirements and collective bargaining agreements.
+ Able to create weekly banquet schedules in accordance with proper rotation and in compliance with the collective bargaining agreement.
+ Participates in pre-booking of banquet service staff for all large and high-profile events
+ Conducts Step One meetings with shop stewards and banquet staff with the goal of resolving issues whenever possible so as to alleviate any board of adjustments or grievances.
+ Ensures Service Standard Training is current, being communicated effectively to staff and that ongoing training is occurring within all areas of department.
+ Practices and observes safety rules and regulations and encourages others to do the same.
+ Participates in staff meetings with Banquet Team to ensure we are remaining consistent with our Strategic Plan and vision for the department. Communicates any new policies and procedures.
+ Manages line employees- servers and Banquet Beverage employees as needed
**A GREAT CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:**
+ Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
+ Two (2) years recent work experience in a large convention center or banquet operation is required at the position of at least a department assistant manager or director
+ Previous experience working in a similar resort setting
