THE JOB

The Special Event’s Staff primary function is to deliver food and beverage to guests in a professional manner following all House of Blues standards.

WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO

1. Serving the host and guest of a party - all timelines and services must be met or exceeded to a four-star standard.
2. Serving buffets, sit-down dinners, and hors d'oeuvres parties.
3. Setting tables with quality china, glass, silver, and following all details of event order.
4. Ensuring high standards by following service standards of department.
5. Exceeding customer expectations by anticipating service needs.
6. Organizing motions to maximize efficiency of set-up and service.
7. Ensuring creativity of buffets and day-to-day customer special needs.
8. Promoting an excellent work environment by following Standards of Excellence.
9. Providing hands-on activity with making of candelabras, sauced stations, and quality checks of room and individual tables.
10. Assignment requires working in areas with high-levels of background noise (bands, guests).
11. Ensuring a safe working environment by following all work practices.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates will have:

1. Minimum of 2 years prior serving experience in a quality club/hotel/restaurant.
2. Knowledge of fine wines and food.
3. Strong listening and oral communication skills.
4. Strong interpersonal skills and a "customer first" mentality.
5. Demonstrated knowledge and ability to adhere to quality standards for safety, sanitation and food handling.
6. Act in a courteous, friendly, and professional manner.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Must be willing to work weekend, holiday, and evening shifts.

Ability to lift a maximum of 50 lb.
