Position Summary

The Server will provide ultimate hospitality for guests in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with most events in evenings.

This role will pay an hourly rate of $27.00 and is tip eligible.

About the Venue

The Seattle Aquarium is a conservation organization working to regenerate the health of Earth's one ocean. The Aquarium brings the ocean to life for the public with experiences that inspire awe, empathy, and conservation action. It is the ninth largest aquarium in the U.S. by attendance and is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums. Since opening, it has hosted over 27 million visitors and provided marine conservation education to two million school children. The new Ocean Pavilion, opened in September 2024, will be a central feature on the Seattle waterfront.

Responsibilities
  1. Read and understand Banquet Event Orders.
  2. Carry at least 8 entrees per tray.
  3. Provide fine dining level food and beverage service to guests for all events, consistent with high standards of service.
  4. Initiate and maintain friendly and professional contact with guests, ensuring all needs are anticipated and met.
  5. Set up and maintain food and beverage stations throughout the building, following OVG standards.
  6. Maintain and inventory food and beverage stations.
  7. Keep all event areas and front of house staging areas tidy and organized.
  8. Participate in setup and cleanup of service items.
  9. Work independently during slower times.
  10. Ensure a safe and clean work environment.
  11. Maintain a high level of social contact and work closely with staff and patrons.
  12. Work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  13. Be detail-oriented to ensure accuracy and completeness of work.
  14. Multi-task effectively.
  15. Handle and move objects, including lifting up to 30 lbs.
  16. Maintain a customer-focused, positive, and professional attitude.
  17. Communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
  18. Use basic arithmetic skills.
  19. Stand for extended periods and perform physical movements like bending, stretching, and reaching.
