Job Summary

A Banquet Server provides effective food and beverage service, guest attention, and overall logistics of banquet events by way of set-up, clear communication and teamwork, while maintaining the company’s standard for excellence, resulting in the overall success of banquet events.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Knowledgeable of event menu items and their contents, appropriate table settings and service ware, and the correct preparation and garnishing methods.
  • Responsible for setting up, serving, maintaining, and breaking down banquet rooms and food lines/stations.
  • Respond to requests from guests, supervisors or management in a timely, friendly and efficient manner.
  • Follow up to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain supplies neat and organized to department standards.
  • Maintain security of equipment, keys and supplies issued each day.
  • Review Function Sheets at the beginning of each shift.
  • Maintain high standards of safety and cleanliness in all areas of the Conference Center.
  • Communicate any areas of need, problems, and concerns from guests to Banquet Manager/Captain.
  • Keep inventory of all Conference Center equipment in order and stored in their appropriate areas.
  • Transport any and all items needed for an outdoor event not within the Conference Center and tent areas.
  • Maintain proper dining experience to include: delivering items, fulfilling customer needs, removing courses, replenishing utensils, refilling glasses.
  • Work with the kitchen to accurately fulfill orders from the function sheets and special requests from groups.
  • Perform basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor.
  • Greet all guests warmly with an appropriate greeting.
  • Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently.
  • Understand and can communicate products and services available at the resort.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Combination of education and experience that enables performance of all aspects of the position.

Physical & Other Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand, talk and hear.
  • The employee is frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Evenings, weekends and holidays are a regular part of the schedule.
  • Must have excellent attendance and conduct record for consideration.
  • Non-smoking candidates preferred.
