Job summary

HEI Hotels & Resorts invites applications for banquet service roles at the Embassy Suites Palm Beach Gardens PGA Boulevard. Assist the Banquet Manager in serving guests during events, ensuring a positive guest experience.

Prior hotel experience preferred and a team-player attitude are important. Responsibilities include setting up banquet spaces, greeting guests, serving courses, maintaining service standards, and complying with alcohol-service rules.

Qualifications

• Hotel experience preferred.
• Must be willing to "pitch-in" and help co-workers with their job duties and be a team player with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations and etiquette.
• Knowledge of the appropriate table settings and serviceware.
• Ability to comprehend and apply written product labeling instructions to enable the safe application of products and processes within the hotel.
• Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items.
• Ability to transport up to 30 lbs. through a crowded room on a continuous basis throughout the shift.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences, such as effectively communicating with supervisors, coworkers, public etc.

Responsibilities

• Assist Banquet Manager in serving guests during banquet functions to ensure a positive guest experience.
• Set up banquet room with linen, serviceware and glassware as instructed by Supervisor.
• Attend roll call meetings to learn function particulars and expectations.
• Greet guests and respond to requests in a friendly and courteous manner.
• Serve food and beverages to the satisfaction of the Supervisor and remove dishes promptly.
• Abide by state, federal and corporate rules for serving alcoholic beverages.
• Replenish beverages and check guest satisfaction.
• Reset banquet room after events for the next function.
• Be available to work regularly and perform other duties as assigned.
