About the Role

We are looking for a highly motivated Banquet Server to join our team at Chaminade Resort & Spa in Santa Cruz, CA. The role involves setting up, serving, and breaking down banquet rooms for events.

Location

The position is located at Chaminade Resort & Spa, a mountain resort with 156 guest rooms and 12,000 sq ft of meeting space in the Santa Cruz area.

Responsibilities

• Set up banquet rooms, including draping, table setting, folding napkins, preparing drinks, and putting out centerpieces.
• Carry trays to event locations, serve food and beverages, and clear tables of dishes, glasses, silverware, and other items.
• Break down banquet rooms, bussing tables, putting away linens and centerpieces, and vacuuming.
• Clean back halls and organize storerooms.
• Set up AM or PM break stations with coffee, tea, snacks, and beverages.
• Assist with event room setup based on meal periods and table needs.
• Prepare food and beverage items such as condiments and brewed coffee, and keep workstations stocked.
• Sanitize tables, counters, and seats after use.
• Explain menu items, cooking methods, and ingredients to guests.
• Consider special requests and dietary issues.
• Provide general property information to guests.
• Offer warm welcomes and farewells to all guests.
• Interact professionally with staff and assist other departments as needed.
• Conduct final quality checks on food and beverage items before serving.
• Monitor assigned tables for guest satisfaction and quality of service.
• Address guest issues promptly with high concern.
• Provide assistance to other event and restaurant staff as needed.
• Maintain constant awareness of safety issues such as broken glass, frayed cords, leaks, broken locks, and suspicious persons.

Compensation
