Job summary

Waterford Hotel Group in Hartford, CT is seeking a Full-time Banquet Server to deliver exceptional food and beverage service for banquets, weddings, conferences and events, ensuring timely, polished, guest-focused service.

You will set up and break down according to event orders, maintain proper table settings, and coordinate with banquet directors, kitchen staff and event managers while upholding brand standards and a professional appearance.

Qualifications

• Previous banquet or full-service hospitality experience preferred (hotel or upscale venue a plus).
• Strong guest service and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
• Professional appearance and positive attitude.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods; lift up to 50 lbs.
• Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Pass a background check and be drug-free.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, full-service food and beverage service during banquet events, including plated meals, buffets, and reception-style functions.
• Set up, maintain, and break down according to event orders (BEOs) and Marriott standards.
• Serve guests promptly, professionally, and courteously, anticipating needs and responding to requests.
• Ensure proper table settings, cleanliness, and presentation throughout the event.
• Communicate effectively with the Director of Banquets, banquet captains, kitchen staff, and event managers.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and alcohol service guidelines.
• Handle guest concerns or special requests promptly and professionally, escalating issues as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of menu items, ingredients, and service procedures.
• Uphold Marriott's service culture, appearance standards, and core values.
• Assist with additional duties as assigned to support successful events.
