Job summary

Castaway in Burbank, CA, seeks an experienced Banquet Server to join our Special Events team. You will deliver outstanding dining experiences at weddings, corporate events, and other occasions, ensuring 100% guest satisfaction and smooth banquet operations.

The role requires at least 1 year in banquet service, weekend availability, strong guest service and communication, and the ability to lift heavy trays and work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year experience as a banquet server or in a similar role preferred.
  • Must be available on Friday and Saturday afternoon/evening and Sunday morning/afternoon.
  • Strong customer service skills with a focus on providing exceptional guest experiences.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to interact effectively with guests and team members.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of food and beverage service procedures and etiquette.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by the event schedule.
  • Physical stamina, with the ability to lift and carry heavy trays or equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the setup and arrangement of banquet rooms, ensuring alignment with event specifications.
  • Ensure all tables, chairs, linens, and tableware are neatly arranged and presentable.
  • Verify the accuracy of event details, including seating arrangements and any special requests.
  • Greet guests upon arrival and escort them to their designated tables.
  • Serve meals and beverages in accordance with established service standards.
  • Ensure timely and coordinated food delivery between the kitchen and banquet floor.
  • Anticipate guests' needs and respond promptly to their requests throughout the event.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of banquet room areas, clearing tables efficiently.
  • Foster a warm, inviting atmosphere, enhancing the guest event experience.
  • Address guest inquiries, complaints, and special requests professionally and promptly.
  • Adhere to safety and sanitation regulations, ensuring a clean and safe work environment.
  • Follow responsible alcohol service guidelines and procedures.
  • Collaborate effectively with fellow servers, bartenders, and staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Communicate with the event captain and culinary team to ensure the availability of supplies and timely food delivery.
  • Assist fellow servers during high-traffic periods by carrying trays, refilling drinks, or clearing tables.
  • Ability to lift 15-45 pounds as needed.
  • Standing and walking during a 4-8 hour shift, with scheduled breaks.

Position Summary:

Compensation:
