Job summary

This role oversees the daily operations of the Banquet Department, guiding banquet personnel to deliver exceptional guest experiences during events in Chicago.

Responsibilities include staffing, setup, coordination with kitchen and other departments, maintaining standards, training staff, managing inventory, scheduling and payroll, and ensuring compliance with policies. The position offers a pay range of $70,000–$80,000 per year with eligibility for benefits.

• Must be able to read and understand room set-ups, capacities and event types.

Responsibilities

• Review staffing levels, room/station assignments and event-related details to optimize banquet operations.
• Maintain strong client relationships and ensure specifications are communicated and executed across departments.
• Set up functions and meetings on time, ensuring standards of food, beverage and meeting specifications.
• Develop and implement training plans to ensure high-quality service.
• Manage inventory and control losses related to china, glass and silver for events.
• Provide daily guidance to banquet personnel and monitor performance.
• Coordinate with Housekeeping and Engineering for space cleanliness and product delivery.
• Handle weekly scheduling and payroll for the Banquet Department.
