Job summary

LOTTE New York Palace is seeking a Banquet Manager to lead high-end events in a luxury hotel in New York. You will oversee banquet staff during setup and breakdown, liaise with clients and departments, and ensure flawless execution per BEOs.

We seek strong leaders with excellent verbal and written communication, experience supervising teams, and a background in union environments is a plus. This role requires maintaining safety and quality across all banquet spaces.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in a 5 star/5 Diamond establishment.
• Prior experience as Banquet Manager is required.
• Strong leadership experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with clients, technical teams, and staff to coordinate and execute morning banquet setups.
• Supervise banquet staff during setup and breakdown of events (weddings, conferences, meetings).
• Ensure room sets meet BEO specifications and deadlines.
• Conduct pre-shift briefings to relay event details to the team.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of banquet spaces and storage areas.
• Monitor quality and presentation, ensuring safety and company standards.
• Coordinate with Catering, Sales, Housekeeping, and Engineering for seamless events.
• Provide coaching, feedback, and disciplinary actions as needed.
• Manage banquet equipment inventory and report maintenance needs.
• Handle guest issues or last-minute requests professionally.

Job description

• Collaborate directly with clients, technical teams, and audiovisual staff to coordinate and execute morning meeting room setups, ensuring seamless event readiness and client satisfaction.


• Supervise and direct banquet staff in the setup and breakdown of all banquet function including weddings, conferences, and meetings.


• Ensure room sets are completed accurately and on time according to BEOs (Banquet Event Orders).


• Conduct pre-shift briefings to communicate details of each event to the team.


• Maintain cleanliness and organization of banquet spaces and storage areas during morning operations.


• Monitor quality and presentation of all setups, ensuring compliance with company standards and safety regulations.


• Collaborate with other departments (Catering, Sales, Housekeeping, Engineering) to ensure seamless event execution.


• Train, coach, and evaluate banquet team members; provide performance feedback and disciplinary action as needed.


• Maintain accurate inventory of banquet equipment and supplies, report maintenance needs.


• Handle guest issues or last-minute requests with professionalism and efficiency.


• Enforce hotel policies and procedures to maintain a safe and secure work environment.

Pay Range: $90,000 to $105,000 annual salary

Requirements

• Extensive experience in similar 5 star/5 Diamond establishment


• Prior experience as Banquet Manager required


• Strong experience in a leadership role (is preferred)


• Previous experience in a Union environment an advantage


• Requires strong communication skills, both verbal and written


• Knowledge of cost controls such as labor, productivity, and other expenses


• Ability to supervise staff, including but not limited to, assignment of duties, evaluating service, and taking disciplinary action when necessary
