Job summary

Driftwood Hospitality Management is seeking a Banquet Supervisor to lead the banquet team, ensure flawless setup, service, and coordination with catering events, and maintain high standards of hospitality. You will train staff, monitor safety, oversee equipment and linens, review Banquet Event Orders with clients, and ensure timely delivery of exceptional guest experiences across events at our properties.

• Minimum of high school education or equivalent.
• One full year of employment in a banquet or supervisory position is required.
• Working knowledge of hotels banquet and catering food and beverage services.
• Strong communication skills to provide information and services to hotel management and guests.
• Hold a current Food Handler Card.
• Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations, and etiquette.
• Knowledge of appropriate table settings and service ware; familiarity with different room setups.
• Ability to understand verbal English sufficient to comprehend verbal job requests from supervisor and guests.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the Banquet employees; schedule, train, empower, coach and counsel, resolve problems, provide open communication, and recommend discipline as appropriate.
• Supervise and set up the food and beverage preparation and service to ensure compliance with Banquet Event Orders and Catering procedures, delivering an optimal level of service, quality, and hospitality.
• Meet with customers to review the Banquet Event Order and address changes, issues, or problems to ensure delivery of a quality product.
• Monitor and control the maintenance and sanitation of Banquet areas and equipment to protect assets and ensure quality service. Provide weekly linen inventory needs to the housekeeping department.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
• Follow safety and security procedures and rules; know department fire prevention and emergency procedures.
• Utilize protective equipment; report unsafe conditions to supervisor; report accidents, injuries, near-misses, property damage or loss to supervisor.
• Provide for a safe work environment by following all safety and security procedures and rules.
• Maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance (specific standards outlined in the team member handbook).
• Perform related duties as requested by supervisor/manager; assist other Banquet Personnel when needed.

Physical Demands

• Ability to lift and move multiple tables, chairs, and podiums weighing up to 80 lbs through a crowded room; considerable physical activity required during room setup and breakdown.
• Ability to grasp, lift, carry, or push goods on a hand cart or truck weighing up to 100 lbs.
• Frequent twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, talking, hearing, seeing, and smiling.
