About the Banquet Houseperson position

To get our guests’ memorable experiences off to an unforgettable start, we’re looking for a Banquet Houseperson who can set-up and break down banquet space, clean and maintain corridors, and anticipate every request to make our guests feel right at home.

A little taste of your day-to-day

Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:

• Cleaning, storing, and securing in an organized manner all tables, chairs, audio-visual equipment, and other equipment used for banquet functions.
• Maintaining cleanliness of banquet rooms, hallways, and storage/service areas.
• Refreshing rooms during breaks (replenishing supplies, water pitchers, etc.).
• Setting up/breaking down tables, chairs, audio-visual equipment, and platforms/stages as specified by group requirements.
• Retrieving clean linen and skirting and stocking them in storage areas.
• Picking up and delivering all boxes and materials (flip charts, easels, blackboards, etc.) for functions.

What we need from you

• Communication skills - guests will need to come to you with concerns as well as compliments.
• Problem-solving skills to turn issues into opportunities, ensuring every guest leaves with great memories.
• Fluency in the local language; extra language skills are a plus.
• Literate and tech-savvy with a good grasp of reading, writing, basic math, and computer skills.

The hourly pay rate for this role is $25.75, applicable only for jobs performed in Washington, DC. This is the starting rate we believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting.
