Job summary

Loews Ventana Canyon Resort in Tucson, AZ, seeks a proactive Banquet Houseperson to create flawless event experiences. You will set up banquet spaces, arrange furniture, and ensure rooms are guest-ready for weddings, meetings, and social functions.

You will collaborate with banquet leaders and event teams to execute flawless setups, maintain clean spaces, and respond quickly to last-minute changes with a can-do attitude. The role requires physical stamina and a team-oriented mindset.

Qualifications

• One year experience in a mid-high-volume banquet and/or restaurant within an upscale hotel or restaurant preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage time efficiently.
• Ability to stand, walk, reach, stoop, bend and lift/pull/push 100 plus pounds repetitively throughout the shift.
• Ability to push, pull or move portable furniture and/or equipment from storage area to function rooms
• Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Execute room setups and breakdowns based on Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), including tables, chairs, staging, and decor.
• Ensure all furniture and equipment are placed accurately and safely for events such as weddings, meetings, and social functions.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in banquet and storage areas, ensuring readiness for future events.
• Perform regular inspections of event spaces before, during, and after functions to ensure quality and readiness.
• Assist with light maintenance of banquet equipment and report any issues to leadership.
• Respond to guest and team requests during events, including last-minute layout changes or additional setup needs.
• Monitor and restock banquet supplies such as linens, tables, and chairs, and communicate inventory needs to leadership.
• Collaborate with banquet captains, servers, and other departments to ensure seamless event execution.
• Uphold safety standards and maintain a professional, guest-ready environment at all times.
• Regular attendance in conformance with standards.
• May be required to work varying schedules to reflect business needs.
• Required to attend all mandatory training sessions and meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
