Crescent Hotels & Resorts invites an energetic Banquet Houseperson to join the JW Marriott Reston Station team for its fall grand opening. The role supports setup, service, and breakdown of banquet spaces, contributing to a luxury guest experience in a landmark hotel.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Set up all meeting rooms per guest specifications, including moving staging, tables, chairs, and dance floors.
• Supply and replenish meeting rooms with clean glasses and water.
• Break down rooms after meetings and return items to storage for next use.
• Maintain cleaning schedule for meeting rooms and ballrooms to ensure presentable spaces.
• Adhere to attendance rules and be available to work regularly.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.

The hotel features 247 rooms spread across 12 floors, setting a new standard for luxury accommodations in the DMV area. The JW Residences occupy the remaining 16 floors. What will you be doing?

• Communicate with supervisor throughout shift to be aware of the work.
• Set up all meeting rooms to the specifications of the guest. This includes considerable physical activity in transporting awkward and heavy materials such as staging, tables, chairs, dancefloors, etc., from storage area to meeting rooms
• Supply and replenish meeting rooms with clean glasses and fresh water.
• Break down all meeting rooms where meetings have concluded and return to storage closet so the room will be available to be reset for the next function.
• Maintain established cleaning schedule of meeting rooms and ballrooms so the rooms stay presentable at all times.
• Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
• Perform any other job related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Must have the ability to communicate in English. Self‑starting personality with an even disposition. Ability to meet standards of appearance. Can communicate well with guests. Ability to transport up to 30 lbs. through a crowded room on a continuous basis throughout the shift. Must be willing to “pitch-in” and help coworkers with their job duties and be a team player.
