Banquet Houseman - The Gathering Spot D.C.

Job Summary: The Banquet Houseman is responsible for performing pre-event, during-event, and post-event duties to ensure excellent event execution for clients. The role requires understanding of event setup, good communication skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service. The Houseman should enjoy diverse tasks while maintaining a professional, friendly, and positive attitude.

Responsibilities:
  1. Set up events according to floor plans and secure equipment as per Equipment Pull Forms.
  2. Ensure cleanliness and accuracy of equipment before departing for the event.
  3. Make appropriate equipment substitutions and note changes.
  4. Prepare rented equipment for scheduled events.
  5. Load and unload equipment and items as specified in Banquet Event Orders.
  6. Assist during events, including barback duties and other assigned tasks.
  7. Break down events, load and store equipment properly in the warehouse.
  8. Maintain a friendly and cooperative attitude with members, guests, and colleagues.
  9. Perform light repairs, maintenance, cleaning, and side work as needed.
  10. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software for reports and logs.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment.
Education and Experience:
  • Minimum of two years of related experience.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods.
  • Lift up to 15 pounds.
  • Perform bending, lifting, stretching, climbing, and crawling to maintain equipment and facilities.
  • Work in various weather conditions.
