Job summary

Boyd Gaming Corporation is seeking a Banquet Porter in Biloxi to support event functions and banquet service. You will set up and breakdown banquet equipment, deliver supplies, and keep all banquet areas organized and safe.

Responsibilities include stocking bars, moving carts, and refreshing meeting rooms. The role requires physical stamina, reading English, and the ability to lift up to 75 pounds. High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum six months as banquet porter preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Knowledge of banquet set-ups (classroom, chevron, banquet, reception) preferred.
• Forklift certification is beneficial.
• Must read English.

• Set up banquet equipment per BEO and break down after events.
• Deliver supplies from the banquet bar porter in a timely manner.
• Store and maintain banquet equipment, bars, carts, and chairs.
• Refresh meeting rooms as required.
• Maintain a clean, safe, hazard-free work area.
• Complete other duties as assigned by management.
• Physical demands include sitting, bending, lifting, and more.

Job Description

Complete set-ups and breakdowns of banquet equipment; store and maintains all bars, carts, portable units, tables, chairs, stanchions, and the like. Assist bartenders with stock, breakdown of beer, liquor, and other supplies. Deliver related supplies as needed.

Job Functions

• Set-up banquet equipment in accordance with the BEO; break down same at the conclusion of the event.
• Deliver supplies such as liquor and beer, from the banquet bar porter, in a timely and efficient manner.
• Store and maintain all banquet equipment, bars, carts, portable units, tables, chairs, stanchions etc.
• Refresh meeting rooms as required.
• Maintain a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment within area of responsibility.
• Other physical demands of this job include but are not limited to: sitting, bending, lifting, reaching, pulling/pushing, kneeling, squatting, and grasping.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Minimum of six (6)months of priorexperience as a banquet porter preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Knowledge of various banquet set-ups (e.g. classroom style, chevron, banquet, reception, etc.) strongly preferred.
• Forklift certification is beneficial.
• Must be able to read English.
• Must be able to stand and/or walk for duration of shift.
• Must be able to push, pull, and lift up to 75 pounds on a regular basis.
• Must be able to grasp, kneel, stoop, and bend on a regular basis.
• Must be able to obtain/maintain any necessary licenses and/or certifications.
