Job summary

Garden of the Gods Resort and Club is seeking a Banquet Steward to maintain exceptional service standards, ensure room presentation, and support guest satisfaction during events.

Responsibilities include setting up banquet rooms, arranging equipment and supplies, coordinating with departments, and assisting with A/V needs. The role requires attention to detail, teamwork, and a professional appearance.

Qualifications

• Requires ability to interpret / extract information and perform arithmetic functions.
• Minimum education of a high school diploma with at least 3 months related experience.
• State of Colorado Safe-Serve certification and TIPS Bar certification required.

Responsibilities

• Set up banquet rooms independently to Club and Resort standards.
• Pre-arrange equipment, china, and supplies for events.
• Assist with transportation of supplies and AV setup for events.
• Provide courteous guest service and address last-minute requests.
• Keep storage areas, rooms, and equipment clean and orderly.
• Report hazards or broken equipment to Engineering immediately.

Position Purpose & Summary

Responsible for maintaining exceptional service standards, room presentation and guest satisfaction. They help with handling, storing and maintaining equipment and supplies to prevent loss and damage.

Essential Functions

• Checks with Banquet Manager / Banquet Captain when coming on duty for specific instructions for the current function and section assignment.
• Responsible for the work schedule assigned week to week.
• Independently sets up banquet rooms to Club and Resort standards.
• Pre-arranges all equipment, china and supplies for events as needed.
• Assist with transportation of supplies, equipment, food and beverage to various venues across property.
• Ensures all A/V needs are met and set up has been tested prior to event.
• Assists with last minute client requests and changes.
• Performs necessary clean-up and sanitation activities for the food and beverage storage facilities.
• Keeps food and beverage product, equipment and/or storage facilities clean and orderly.
• Thoroughly cleans all event/meeting rooms before and after banquet events including dusting all woodwork, taking out trash and vacuuming as needed.
• Reports hazardous conditions or broken equipment to the Engineering Department immediately. In an emergency, notifies Engineering at once.
• Is timely with refreshing rooms during banquet event breaks.
• Completes any other duties as assigned.
• Deliver "I Am Proud" service standards and department-specific signature touch points.
• Establish cross-departmental channels of communication among teammates that are consistent and complete.

Position Requirements

Minimum Knowledge & Skills: Minimum Knowledge - Requires ability to interpret / extract information and / or perform arithmetic functions. May require typing, CRT, record keeping, or word processing. May have need for good communication skills.

Formal Education and Job-Related Experience: This position requires a minimum formal education of a high school diploma and a minimum of three (3) months job-related experience.

License, Registration, and/or Certification Required: State of Colorado (or equivalent) Safe-Serve Certification/ TIPS Bar Certificate
