Job description

Position Summary:

Responsible for supporting events of IPCC/IPMI by setting up tables and chairs. Works closely with the Rental Technician to learn and maintain audio/visual equipment for all contracted events. Acts as a back up to Rental Technician when needed.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Serves as a support for special events of IPCC/IPMI.
  • On a continuous basis, keeps service areas, pre-functions space and storage areas clean, organized and unobstructed.
  • Clean up of the meeting and event rooms periodically. This includes, but is not limited to , straightening chairs, clearing the dirty dishes and glassware from the tables, straightening the chairs, changing soiled table linen, vacuuming the floor, emptying trash and restocking materials such as pads and pens.
  • Tear down and set up of the meeting and event rooms, daily. This may include stripping the room of all its furniture, vacuuming the floor and resetting the room per the specifications outlined by the BEO.
  • Proper care, movement, storage of all equipment such as tables, chairs, risers, dance floor, and lecterns, is required.
  • During events, duties may include assisting the banquet servers by refreshing the food or beverage service, as well as attending to the conference speakers' needs.
  • Participates as a team member with servers, bartenders, cooks, manager, and any pertinent company employees in producing a smoothly and efficiently run operation that meets the highest standards of customer service.
  • Assists in setting up audio/visual equipment necessary for various events.
  • Assists in cleaning up and repairing any equipment after the event is over.
  • Maintains a good communication with co-workers and maintains a positive and professional work environment.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

One year experience in banquets/food and beverage. Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen and background investigation. Native American preference will be given.


Knowledge, Abilities, Skills, and Certifications:

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to work independently.
