Banquet Cook - 1st/2nd Shift - Full Time

Pay Range

$17.00/hr - $24.00/hr

Role Summary

The banquet cook prepares and serves food for events, working with pre-made dishes and occasionally creating food to order. The role requires stamina, creativity, and a pleasant demeanor, often working directly with guests.

Essential Functions
  • Use various cooking methods: poaching, braising, charbroiling, sautéing, and par-cooking.
  • Present foods attractively, including meats and vegetables.
  • Read and understand Banquet Event Orders.
  • Follow quality standards for ingredients and proper storage.
  • Understand seasonings and food allergens.
  • Attend departmental meetings and adhere to policies.
  • Provide excellent guest service and work collaboratively with staff.
  • Complete daily responsibilities and cleaning tasks.
Daily Responsibilities
  • Follow recipes and presentation standards under supervision.
  • Prepare kitchen stations, including setup and breakdown.
  • Maintain food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Keep uniform and appearance professional.
  • Handle foods safely, especially during transportation and carving.
  • Follow green policies and proper waste disposal.
  • Adhere to guest service standards and departmental rules.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Previous culinary experience.
  • Safe knife handling skills.
  • Garde Manger experience is a plus.
Certificates and Education
  • Serve Safe certification preferred.
  • Culinary degree or 2 years of relevant experience.
