Hollywood Casino Charles Town in West Virginia is seeking a culinary team member to prepare and cook items across the menu in a fast-paced casino kitchen. You will work closely with cooks and sous chefs to ensure quality and safety standards are met.

The role requires 3 months of culinary experience, ability to read safety rules and procedures, and strong attention to detail. Training on PPE, safety, and state licensing will be provided as part of our comprehensive rewards package.

Responsabilidades

• Adjusts thermostat controls to regulate oven and kitchen equipment.
• Bakes, roasts, broils, and steams meats, fish, vegetables, and other foods.
• Adds seasoning to foods during mixing or cooking.
• Observes and tests foods to ensure proper cooking.
• Carves meats and plates with gravies and sauces.
• Washes, peels, cuts, and shreds vegetables and fruits for prep.
• Bakes bread, pastries, and other items as assigned.
• Follows PPE and safety guidance for team and guests.
• No supervisory responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Adjusts thermostat controls to regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, roasters, and steam kettles.
• Bakes, roasts, broils, and steams meats, fish, vegetables, and other foods.
• Adds seasoning to foods during mixing or cooking.
• Observes and tests foods being cooked by tasting, smelling, and piercing with fork to determine that it is cooked.
• Carves meats, portions food on serving plates, adds gravies and sauces, and garnishes servings to fill orders.
• Washes, peels, cuts, and shreds vegetables and fruits to prepare them for use.
• Bakes bread, rolls, cakes, and pastry and any task assigned to you by your master cook, sous chef and room chef and or restaurant manager.
• You are required to follow PPE and safety guidance designed to safeguard you, your fellow team members, and guests.
• This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

• 3 months experience in the culinary field.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Must qualify for licensing with the West Virginia Racing Commission.
• Attend our West Virginia Food Handlers Class and pass certification.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee is occasionally required to walk; sit; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Employee must be able to lift 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
