The Hotel Zamora, a beautiful boutique hotel located in St. Pete Beach, FL, is seeking an experienced Banquet Captain. The hotel is under new ownership and management with Sherman Associates, a proven real estate development and management company. Our commitment to people and our vision for the future, combined with decades of success, define Sherman Associates. Located with stunning views overlooking the Intercoastal Waterway and Gulf of Mexico, the hotel offers a luxurious retreat with guest rooms, a Rooftop Lounge, Sidewalk Restaurant, Private Dining, and Meeting/Banquet spaces.

This position plays a major role in leading the hotel's Food & Beverage experience. The Spirit to Serve is essential for a positive guest experience. A Banquet Captain should be friendly, courteous, professional, and possess excellent communication skills. The role requires multitasking, quick thinking, and maintaining composure. It involves training Banquet Servers, Bartenders, and Housepersons on service standards, legal alcohol service, food safety, health standards, and setup/takedown procedures.

Core Responsibilities
  • Monitor adherence to quality and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with the F&B manager and culinary team to ensure efficient service.
  • Promote teamwork within the Food and Beverage department and other departments.
  • Handle situations such as staff or customer complaints, inventory issues, and staffing shortages.
  • Supervise front of house staff, including coaching, training, and evaluation.
  • Oversee food and beverage service, ensuring compliance with labor laws, health regulations, and brand standards.
  • Manage daily food and beverage operations.
  • Monitor food standards, costs, and safety measures.
  • Inspect equipment for maintenance needs and cleanliness.
  • Perform other duties as needed based on business requirements.
Education & Experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • At least 1 year of supervisory experience in a restaurant, hotel, or service industry.
Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to work long shifts during events and peak times.
  • Knowledge of restaurant management software.

  • Flexible schedule based on hotel needs.
Work Environment
  • Busy and loud environment with kitchen hazards.
Physical Requirements
