Job summary

Entrada at Snow Canyon Country Club in St George, Utah, is seeking a part-time Banquet Captain to lead banquet staff, coordinate events, and ensure flawless service for social and corporate functions.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED and 3–6 months of related experience; attendance is essential. The position is part-time and operates on-site at our Troon-managed facility, with benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 3–6 months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Regular and reliable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Reviews assigned banquet staff functions and menus prior to the scheduled event.
• Conducts pre-banquet meetings with staff to ensure appearance and hygiene standards, assigns stations and partners, and reviews banquet event orders.
• Communicates with the Banquet Manager or coordinator to ensure all details are planned and met.
• Ensures timely changes and instructions are made.
• Ensures adequate quantities of china, glassware, linens, and other items; procures items not available in inventory.
• Checks room setup prior to event and coordinates with Banquet Chef on quantities of food and timing.
• Ensures proper handling and storage of equipment after use.
• Conducts audits during functions to ensure food is served at proper temperature and to optimize upsell opportunities.
• Regularly reviews banquet schedule for changes and special events.
• Implements safe work practices and performs other duties as required.

We are seeking a driven individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast-paced hospitality-focused property organization. As part ofTroon, you will contribute to a global leader in golf and community management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Reviews assigned banquet staff functions, banquet menus prior to the scheduled event.
• Conducts pre-banquet meetings with staff to ensure appearance and hygiene standards are being met; assign stations and partners; and review banquet event orders.
• Communicates with the Banquet Manager or other assigned coordinator to ensure that all details have been planned for and met.
• Ensures that changes and further instructions are made in a timely manner.
• Ensures that appropriate quantities of china, glassware, silverware, linens, and other items are available for upcoming events. Secures requisitions for those items not available in inventory.
• Checks room set-up prior to event and meets with Banquet Chef to confirm quantities of food items and timing of food leaving the kitchen.
• Ensures proper handling of all equipment (i.e. china, glassware, silverware, linen, and props) and their proper storage after use.
• Conducts random audits during functions to evaluate food and service. Ensures that food is served at appropriate temperature; food is placed properly on the table; sufficient food is available; and up sell opportunities are met.
• Regularly reviews banquet schedule for changes, calendar of events, and special events.
• Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
• Performs other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Other Qualifications:

Regular and reliable attendance.
