Job summary

Sheraton Pittsburgh Hotel at Station Square in Pittsburgh is seeking a Banquet Supervisor to lead event execution and guest service. You will oversee banquet operations, supervise staff during events, and ensure setup, service, and breakdown meet our standards.

The role requires strong leadership, the ability to coordinate with kitchen and other teams, and a focus on safety, sanitation, and high presentation. Evening and weekend availability is required to match event schedules.

Qualifications

  • Must possess working knowledge of banquet service procedures and event setup standards.
  • Basic understanding of food and beverage service, including safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills required.
  • Ability to read and interpret banquet event orders (BEOs).
  • CPR certification preferred; first aid training a plus.
  • Additional language proficiency preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate banquet events to ensure seamless execution and guest satisfaction.
  • Supervise banquet staff during events, providing direction and leadership.
  • Set up banquet rooms according to event orders, including tables, chairs, linens, place settings, and décor.
  • Ensure all food and beverage service is delivered in accordance with standards and timelines.
  • Act as primary point of contact for clients and guests, addressing requests and resolving issues promptly.
  • Communicate event details and expectations to banquet staff before and during events.
  • Coordinate with kitchen, bar, and other departments to ensure smooth service flow.
  • Monitor service quality, presentation, and guest satisfaction.
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and service of food and beverages in compliance with safety standards.
  • Assist with opening and closing duties, setup, breakdown, and securing event spaces.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of banquet areas and equipment.
  • Complete event reports and communicate issues to management.
  • Respond promptly to supervisor, client, and guest requests.
  • Follow hotel/venue policies; attend required meetings and trainings.
  • Assist with additional food/beverage or operational duties as assigned.

Education

High school education or equivalent

Job Function

Banquet Operations and Event Execution

Oversee and coordinate banquet events to ensure seamless execution and exceptional guest service.

Ensure all food and beverage service is delivered in accordance with established standards and timelines.

Attend all required meetings and trainings.

Assist with additional food and beverage or operational duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

These are required of every associate:

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.

Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds.

Ability to push, pull, bend, stoop, and reach overhead.

Ability to move and set up tables, chairs, and banquet equipment.

Ability to perform repetitive motions and tasks requiring manual dexterity.

Ability to hear, write, and communicate effectively.

Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Additional Responsibilities Specific to This Position
