REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR OF EVENTS
POSITION SUMMARY

The Banquet Busser plays an important role in the successful execution of Club functions, weddings, tournaments, Member events, private parties, holiday celebrations, receptions, and other special events at Hideaway Golf Club. This full-time seasonal position supports the Banquet and Events Team by assisting with event setup, maintaining event spaces and service areas, supporting food and beverage service, clearing and resetting tables, and completing post-event breakdown.

The Banquet Busser works closely with Banquet Servers, Bartenders, Culinary Team Members, Food Runners, and Food & Beverage leadership to ensure events are properly prepared, service flows efficiently, and event spaces remain clean, organized, and presentation-ready throughout each function.

Banquet Bussers are expected to demonstrate a strong sense of urgency, attention to detail, flexibility, teamwork, and professionalism while maintaining the refined service standards associated with a premier private club environment. The position requires the ability to adapt to different event formats, locations, timelines, and service requirements while anticipating the needs of Members, Guests, and fellow Team Members.

While primarily assigned to Banquet and Special Event operations, Banquet Bussers may periodically be assigned to assist restaurant and other Food & Beverage operations based on Club business and operational needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide exceptional service and hospitality to Members, Guests, event attendees, and fellow Team Members at all times.
  • Assist the Banquet and Events Team with the execution of Club functions, weddings, tournaments, Member events, private parties, holiday celebrations, receptions, and other special events.
  • Review event diagrams, function sheets, Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), timelines, table assignments, and service instructions as directed to understand event setup, timing, assigned service areas, and special requirements.
  • Participate in pre-event meetings and service briefings as directed to understand assignments, event details, timing, and expectations.
  • Assist with event setup, including moving and arranging tables, chairs, linens, glassware, silverware, china, serviceware, centerpieces, service stations, beverage stations, buffet stations, and other event-related equipment and supplies.
  • Set tables according to event specifications and established Club presentation standards.
  • Ensure event spaces and assigned service areas are clean, properly arranged, fully stocked, and presentation-ready prior to Member and Guest arrival.
  • Assist Banquet Servers and Bartenders with food and beverage service throughout events.
  • Refill water glasses and assist with beverage service as directed.
  • Deliver food and beverages to tables or designated service areas when necessary and appropriately assigned.
  • Remove soiled dishes, glassware, silverware, linens, and other service items promptly and efficiently throughout events.
  • Clear and reset tables according to event requirements and service timing.
  • Maintain assigned tables and event areas throughout service to ensure they remain clean, organized, and properly presented.
  • Stock and replenish service stations, beverage stations, glassware, silverware, linens, serviceware, and other supplies throughout each event.
  • Polish glassware, silverware, and service items as assigned.
  • Assist with buffet, reception, cocktail, beverage, and other service stations as directed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of banquet rooms, event spaces, service stations, beverage stations, staging areas, storage areas, and back-of-house workspaces.
  • Monitor event areas for used serviceware, spills, debris, empty glassware, and other items requiring attention.
  • Respond promptly to Member and Guest requests and communicate service needs to Banquet Servers or leadership as appropriate.
  • Work collaboratively with Banquet Servers, Bartenders, Culinary Team Members, Food Runners, and other Food & Beverage Team Members to maintain efficient service flow and proper event timing.
  • Assist with room resets and transitions between events, meetings, meal periods, or functions.
  • Rearrange tables, chairs, linens, service stations, and other event equipment as required for room transitions.
  • Assist with post-event breakdown, including clearing and cleaning event spaces, removing and sorting linens and serviceware, breaking down tables and chairs as directed, and returning equipment and supplies to designated storage areas.
  • Assist in preparing event spaces for subsequent Club activities or scheduled functions.
  • Safely transport trays, bus tubs, dish racks, beverage containers, tables, chairs, event equipment, and supplies throughout Club facilities.
  • Complete assigned opening, event, side work, and closing duties.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment.
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures in accordance with Riverside County Food Handler requirements.
  • Support a safe working environment and immediately report unsafe conditions.
  • Report to work as scheduled, in proper uniform, and prepared to perform assigned duties.
  • Follow all Club policies, procedures, event specifications, and service standards.
  • Communicate effectively with management and fellow Team Members to ensure exceptional Member and Guest experiences.
  • Demonstrate a strong sense of urgency while maintaining composure and professionalism during high-volume and time-sensitive events.
  • Remain flexible regarding work assignments, event locations, schedules, room configurations, and changing operational needs.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
RESTAURANT & FOOD AND BEVERAGE SUPPORT

Banquet Bussers are primarily assigned to Club functions, banquets, weddings, tournaments, private events, and other special events. Based on business levels and operational needs, Banquet Bussers may periodically be assigned to support restaurant or other Food & Beverage operations.

When assigned to restaurant operations, Banquet Bussers may:

  • Assist with the setup, maintenance, and breakdown of restaurant dining rooms, patios, service stations, and other dining areas.
  • Properly set, clear, clean, and reset tables according to Club standards.
  • Refill water glasses and assist with beverage service as directed.
  • Deliver food and beverages to tables when necessary and appropriately assigned.
  • Remove soiled dishes, glassware, silverware, linens, and other service items from dining areas.
  • Polish glassware, silverware, and service items as assigned.
  • Stock and replenish service stations and dining areas with necessary supplies.
  • Assist Servers, Bartenders, Food Runners, Hosts, and other Food & Beverage Team Members as operational needs require.
  • Maintain dining rooms, patios, service stations, and workspaces in a clean, organized, sanitary, and presentation-ready condition.
  • Complete assigned opening, side work, and closing duties.
  • Maintain the same standards of Member service, professionalism, attentiveness, and hospitality expected during banquet and special event assignments.
  • Remain flexible in assigned duties and service areas based on the overall needs of the Food & Beverage operation.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous banquet, catering, food and beverage, hospitality, restaurant, private club, resort, wedding, or special event experience preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Standing and walking continuously throughout the shift while supporting banquet and special event operations and assisting Members, Guests, and service Team Members.
  • Carrying trays, dish racks, bus tubs, glassware, silverware, china, linens, beverage containers, service equipment, and supplies throughout banquet rooms, event spaces, patios, kitchens, staging areas, and other Club facilities.
  • Reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling, and crouching to set, clear, and reset tables; retrieve supplies; stock service stations; and maintain event presentation standards.
  • Using hands and fingers continuously to handle dishes, glassware, silverware, linens, trays, cleaning tools, service equipment, and event supplies.
  • Communicating with Members, Guests, Banquet Servers, Bartenders, Culinary Team Members, leadership, and fellow Team Members to support service operations and ensure exceptional event execution.
  • Reading table numbers, BEOs, service instructions, event diagrams, floor plans, signage, timelines, and other operational information requiring close and distance vision.
  • Identifying table settings, service areas, glassware, silverware, food items, equipment, and potential safety hazards requiring depth perception, peripheral vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling bus tubs, dish racks, tables, chairs, beverage containers, carts, service equipment, and supplies weighing up to 25 pounds on a frequent basis and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Moving and positioning tables, chairs, event equipment, and supplies during event setup, room transitions, and post-event breakdown.
  • Working indoors and outdoors in varying environmental conditions, including exposure to heat, cold, wind, and other weather conditions associated with Club operations and special events.
  • Maintaining awareness of event activity, service timing, Member and Guest needs, cleanliness standards, and safety conditions while performing multiple tasks in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
