Job summary

Coury Hospitality's The National in Oklahoma City is seeking a Banquet Bartender to deliver attentive beverage service for weddings, meetings, and events. You will review BEOs, set up bars, greet guests, and work with Banquet Captains, Servers, and Culinary Curators to ensure flawless execution.

The role requires standing for long shifts, handling cash, and adapting to fast-paced event timelines. Prior banquet or bartending experience is preferred; evenings, weekends, and holidays are expected.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of banquet experience preferred.
• Ability to read and follow event orders and setup instructions.
• Strong planning, organization and guest service skills.

Responsibilities

• Review Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and event setup requirements.
• Prepare and maintain assigned bar and service areas per spec.
• Set tables and service areas consistently and neatly.
• Greet guests and provide professional, attentive beverage service.
• Assist with setup/breakdown of bars, buffets, and service areas.
• Handle checks, cash procedures, and guest signatures as required.

• Reviewing Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and understanding the setup and service requirements for each event.
• Preparing assigned bar and service areas accurately and efficiently according to event specifications.
• Setting tables and service areas correctly and uniformly.
• Maintaining a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar and service station throughout each event.
• Greeting guests warmly and providing professional, attentive beverage service.
• Preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to established service standards.

• Supporting proper clearing and breakdown of service equipment, trays, and banquet areas.
• Following all guest check, cash-handling, and payment procedures accurately.

• Completing assigned side work and helping maintain a polished event environment.
• Communicating with Banquet Captains, Servers, Culinary Curators, and other team members to ensure smooth event execution.

Education and Experience

• Ability to read and follow Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and event setup instructions.
• Strong planning, organization, and guest service skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate with Banquet Captains, Servers, Culinary Curators, and leadership.
• Ability to learn and follow cash-handling, guest check, safety, sanitation, and service procedures.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs.
• Must obtain and maintain any required state or local alcohol service permits or certifications.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and move throughout banquet spaces and bar areas for extended periods.
• Ability to push, pull, bend, stoop, reach, and move throughout the shift.
• Ability to repeatedly lift and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to safely handle glassware, bottles, bar equipment, trays, food, and beverages.
• Ability to assist with setting up and breaking down banquet bars, tables, buffets, and other event equipment.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced event environment with changing timelines, guest needs, and service priorities.
• Ability to maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the bar and banquet service areas.
• Ability to maintain a polished, professional appearance and adhere to all grooming and uniform standards.
