Base pay range

$15.00/hr - $17.00/hr

Position Summary

The Banquet Bartender is responsible for the set-up, execution, and breakdown of all banquet and catering events, while ensuring clear communication with guests and the culinary team. Bartenders are responsible for the service of all beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. Bartenders are expected to stay composed and flexible in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating strong initiative and teamwork to ensure event success.

This role will pay an hourly wage ranging from $15 to $17 plus tips.

About The Venue

The Palm Beach County Convention Center is a multi-purpose facility in West Palm Beach, Florida, managed by the Oak View Group. The Center features a 100,000 square-foot exhibit hall, a 22,000 square-foot ballroom, and 21,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, as well as connecting to the 400-room Hilton West Palm Beach.

Responsibilities

  • Meet the company standards for guest service, co-worker interaction, and uniform standards.
  • Follow pre-shift notes, checklists, and bar menus to provide described service per event.
  • Serve alcoholic beverages following proper procedures and regulations.
  • Learn about various beer, wine, spirits, and suggest upselling options.
  • Pour drinks responsibly, check IDs, and communicate cut-offs.
  • Respond to customer requests and concerns, de-escalate intoxicated guest situations.
  • Contact management if issues arise beyond standard decision-making.
  • Restock and request additional products as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary work station and equipment.
  • Assist with set-up and breakdown of the bar.
Qualifications
  • Six months or more bartending experience required.
  • Bartending school preferred.
  • Availability for weekdays, weekends, mornings, afternoons, and evenings.
  • High School Diploma, G.E.D., or related experience.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Obtain and maintain ServeSafe Alcohol or eTIPS Certification.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team environment.
  • Strong communication skills and physical ability to lift heavy objects.
