Job summary

Thompson Palm Springs Resort in Palm Springs, CA, is seeking an On Call Banquet Server to join our team. The role involves providing beverage service at banquets, weddings, meetings, and special functions, while upholding guest service excellence and responsible alcohol service.

Responsibilities include setting up and breaking down bars, serving both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, and coordinating with the events team to ensure flawless functions.

Qualifications

• Must have Riverside County Food Handler Card as required by county.
• Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) Certification required.
• Previous bartending experience preferred in hotel, banquet, or high-volume settings.
• Knowledge of cocktails, beer, wine and beverage service procedures.
• Strong customer service and communication skills; able to work flexible hours.

• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for banquet and catering events.
• Provide friendly, professional, and efficient service to guests.
• Set up, stock, and break down banquet bars before and after events.
• Verify guest age and ensure compliance with responsible alcohol service standards.

• Monitor inventory and communicate supply needs to management.
• Handle cash and process beverage charges accurately when required.

The Banquet Bartender is responsible for providing professional beverage service at banquet events, weddings, meetings, and special functions while delivering exceptional guest service. This position prepares and serves alcoholic and non‑alcoholic beverages, maintains a clean and organized bar area, and ensures responsible alcohol service in accordance with company policies and local regulations.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

This is a nonexempt (hourly) role. The budgeted rate for this role is $16.90. This is the hourly rate for this position that Thompson Palm Springs reasonably expects to pay. Decisions regarding individual hourly rates will be based on a number of factors including experience, and education.
