Job summary

Driftwood Hospitality Management's Houston North Hilton event team is seeking a friendly banquet server to assist with setup and service at events. You will greet guests, serve food and beverages, and help maintain a high standard of cleanliness and safety throughout functions.

Expect on-call shifts with varied hours; strong communication, neat appearance, and teamwork are essential for success in this fast-paced hospitality environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of all State, Federal and Corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests.
• Hold a current Food Handler Card.
• Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations and etiquette.
• Knowledge of the appropriate table settings and service ware.
• Basic knowledge of the English language sufficient to understand inquiries from customers and communicate simple instructions.
• Ability to comprehend and apply written product labeling instructions to enable the safe application of products and processes within the hotel.
• Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items.
• Ability to operate beverage equipment, e.g., coffee maker.

Responsibilities

• Set up banquet room and assist with breakdown as described in event orders.
• Attend stand up meetings before events to learn function particulars.
• Greet guests and respond to requests in a friendly and courteous manner.
• Serve food and/or beverages in line with Banquet Captain's expectations.
• Bus dishes promptly as guests finish courses.
• Replenish beverages and check guest satisfaction throughout the event.
• Clear and reset banquet rooms for the next function as directed.
• Perform side work and maintain health standards throughout shifts.
