Position: BANNER TECHNOLOGY PRODUCT OWNER

A Product Owner is responsible for defining the vision of the product, managing the product backlog, and ensuring that the development team delivers value to the business/end clients/users. They act as a bridge between stakeholders and the development team, ensuring that the product meets the needs of the users and aligns with the business goals.

Responsibilities

• Understanding and Showcasing Business Value: The Product Owner must have a deep understanding of the value that the product provides or could provide. This involves using various measures to demonstrate both tangible and intangible business value, such as revenue growth, expense reduction, customer satisfaction, and increased efficiency.
• Managing the Product Backlog: This involves creating, prioritizing, and refining the product backlog items. The Product Owner ensures that the backlog is aligned with the product vision and business goals. They work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Collaborating with Stakeholders: Regular interaction with stakeholders, including students, academic advisors, and administrative staff, is crucial. The Product Owner gathers feedback, understands their needs, and ensures that the product development aligns with these requirements. They also manage stakeholder expectations and communicate the product's progress.
• Planning and Prioritizing Work: The Product Owner participates in sprint planning meetings to prioritize the work for the development team. They ensure that the team understands the requirements and the value of the work they are doing. This involves making trade-offs and decisions about what features to include in each sprint.
