Job summary

An Am Law 100 firm in Charlotte seeks a leader to grow its bankruptcy and financial restructuring practice, with a focus on sophisticated matters and client service. You will drive strategy, mentor junior attorneys and collaborate across a national platform.

You will advise on Chapter 11 and Chapter 7 proceedings, represent diverse stakeholders, and play a key role in business development and cross-office referrals to support growth in a thriving office.

Qualifications

• Significant experience handling sophisticated bankruptcy, restructuring and insolvency matters.
• Demonstrated portable book of business and client relationships.
• Collaborative leadership with mentoring junior attorneys.
• Strong experience representing debtors, creditors, lenders, trustees or committees.
• Proven track record in complex restructurings and bankruptcy litigation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a bankruptcy and financial restructuring practice within the Charlotte market.
• Advise clients on Chapter 11 reorganisations, Chapter 7 proceedings and out-of-court restructurings.
• Represent secured and unsecured creditors, debtors, trustees, committees and financial institutions in complex insolvency matters.
• Handle bankruptcy litigation, distressed acquisitions and Section 363 sales.
• Counsel clients on workouts, debt restructurings, insolvency risk management and creditor rights.
• Develop and strengthen client relationships while generating new business opportunities.
• Contribute to the continued growth and strategic direction of the firm's national restructuring practice.
