Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day support to attorneys handling commercial bankruptcy matters.
  • Assist with Chapter 7, Chapter 11, and Chapter 12 proceedings.
  • Assist with adversary proceedings and bankruptcy litigation.
  • Prepare and maintain case files and legal documents.
  • Assist with pleadings, motions, briefs, notices, and other filings.
  • Coordinate all phases of discovery.
  • Organize discovery documents, exhibits, and supporting materials.
  • Conduct legal and factual research as directed.
  • Assist with hearings, trials, depositions, mediations, and other proceedings.
  • Monitor case deadlines, court dates, and filing requirements.
  • Assist with electronic filing in Bankruptcy Court and federal court.
  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, courts, trustees, creditors, and other parties.
  • Assist with creditor, debtor, trustee, and committee matters.
  • Perform additional legal and administrative duties as assigned.

About The Opportunity

A well-established business law firm is seeking a Bankruptcy Paralegal to support its growing bankruptcy practice. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced paralegal interested in sophisticated legal work within a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

The firm handles complex matters involving bankruptcy, commercial transactions, healthcare, commercial real estate, litigation, and mediation. The bankruptcy team represents debtors, creditors, trustees, committees, and other parties throughout restructuring and insolvency proceedings.

Position Overview

The Bankruptcy Paralegal will work closely with attorneys on complex commercial bankruptcy and litigation matters. The ideal candidate will have bankruptcy experience and be comfortable managing multiple matters, coordinating discovery, preparing legal documents, conducting research, and maintaining case files.

Key Responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with commercial bankruptcy matters
  • Familiarity with Chapter 7, Chapter 11, and/or Chapter 12 proceedings
  • Experience with bankruptcy or federal court filings
  • Litigation and discovery experience
  • Familiarity with PACER and electronic court filing systems
