Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Bankruptcy Legal Assistant to join our team. In this remote role, you will support our legal operations by preparing and e-filing documents, analyzing case and docket activity, and managing client communications. This position is ideal for someone with at least one year of experience in a creditor rights bankruptcy firm who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Draft and e-file various notices and forms
  • Holistically analyze case status, plan treatment, docket and claims register activity
  • Process files in an expeditious manner
  • Provide timely notifications/documentation to clients
  • Electronically file documents with the bankruptcy court
  • Perform retrieval and related processing of incoming data and/or documentation
  • Perform submission and related processing of outgoing data and/or documentation
  • Perform liaison activities between our firm/attorneys, clients, intra-office personnel, and/or 3rd parties
  • Perform all duties and responsibilities in a timely and effective manner in accordance with company policies and client directives to achieve overall company goals

Position Requirements

Requirements:

  • Bankruptcy – Creditor Rights Law Firm experience (1 year minimum)
  • Must reside in one of the following eligible states:AL, CT, FL, GA, IN, KY, ME, MA, MD, MI, NH, NC, NJ, OH, PA, RI, SC, TN, TX, VA, VT

Preferred:

  • Experience with Plan Review, Reaffirmations, Final Cure Responses, Payment Change Notices, and/or Post-Petition Fee Notices
  • Experience preparing and e-filing bankruptcy documents
  • Proficiency analyzing case status, docket and claims register activity, and account data/history
  • Polished and professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven record of dependability and ability to work well independently and with a team
