Job summary

AMS Staffing Inc. is seeking a Bankruptcy Associate for our Houston, TX office. The role requires hands-on Chapter 7 and 11 experience, with responsibilities including drafting pleadings and motions, providing courtroom support, and coordinating with Trustees, Courts, and opposing counsel.

The ideal candidate must be licensed to practice in Texas, possess strong written and verbal communication, and demonstrate professional judgment in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice in Texas.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 bankruptcy experience.

Responsibilities

• Drafting and preparing pleadings, motions, discovery, proofs of claim, and other bankruptcy filings.
• Provide courtroom support and attend creditor meetings.
• Communicate effectively with Trustees, Bankruptcy Courts, Local Counsel, and Debtors’ Attorneys.

Job Title: Bankruptcy Associate

Location: Houston TX 77002

Salary/Payrate: Salary Dependent on Experience

Referral Fee: AMS will pay $500 should the person you refer gets hired

Job Description:

• Minimum 5+ years of hands-on Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 bankruptcy experience, including complex Chapter 11 matters.
• Proven ability to represent a wide range of stakeholders—secured creditors, unsecured creditors, committees, Chapter 7 trustees, and debtors.
• Strong background in workouts, restructurings, asset protection strategies, and document review for distressed clients across multiple industries.
• Skilled in drafting and preparing pleadings, motions, discovery, proofs of claim, and other bankruptcy-related filings.
• Experience providing courtroom support, attending creditor meetings, and communicating effectively with Trustees, Bankruptcy Courts, Local Counsel, and Debtors’ Attorneys.
• Licensed to practice in Texas, with excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong judgment, and high professionalism.
• Demonstrated ability to build client relationships, work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, and maintain strong academic and professional credentials.
