Job summary

Job description

To perform intermediate duties and support related to branch operational activities and financial services.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
  • Intermediate knowledge of related state and federal banking compliance regulations and bank operational policies
  • Intermediate skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation; including MS Word and Excel
  • Courteous social skills to welcome visitors in a business environment
  • Strong math skills; assist with reconciliation of certain accounts; add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; locate routine mathematical errors; count currency, coin and negotiable instruments in a timely manner

RESPONSIBILITIES:
New Accounts:
  • Assist consumer and business customers and lenders in their selection of various accounts, products and financial services available from the Bank.
  • Make decisions regarding the opening of new accounts; assign account numbers; complete forms requiring customer signature(s); verify credit history, if applicable; accept initial deposits; prepare all documents and items pertaining to checking accounts, savings accounts and certificates of deposit for processing. This may include treasury management services (wires, ACH, remote deposit); Order customer checks, endorsement stamps and deposit slips.
  • Set up approved treasury management services on the various systems.
  • Perform safe deposit duties by opening accounts, controlling access, assisting customers and assisting with performing audits as needed.
  • Place appropriate holds when necessary following the regulation guidelines to ensure compliance is met.
  • Provide effective customer service by answering customer questions; ability to investigate and correct errors; and resolves problems or other issues.
Operations / Teller:
  • Perform all teller duties to include but not limited to; processing deposits, withdrawals, stop payments, official checks, place appropriate holds of deposits when necessary, balancing teller drawer, transfer of funds, and research. Assist with bank‑by‑mail deposits.
  • Assist with opening and closing the vault(s) daily, assist in balancing vault currency.
  • Answer client questions and direct for assistance.
  • Type routine letters.
  • Adhere to Bank policies, government regulations and legal requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.
