About the Role

The Banking Asset Operations Manager supports MachineryMax’s Banking Division by overseeing the recovery, management, and disposition of bank‑owned and lender‑controlled assets. This role serves as the primary operational liaison between MachineryMax and banking, financial, and legal partners, ensuring assets move efficiently from recovery through sale while meeting documentation, compliance, and reporting requirements.

This position requires strong operational judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple assets and stakeholders in a fast‑moving environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with banks, financial institutions, bankruptcy trustees, and attorneys to support the remarketing of heavy machinery, rolling stock, land, and related assets.
  • Manage asset intake following repossession or recovery, ensuring completeness of documentation and compliance with lender requirements.
  • Coordinate repossession agents, transport providers, storage facilities, and staging locations to meet disposition timelines.
  • Identify risks, delays, or exceptions early and elevate with recommended solutions.
  • Prepare, review, and submit required recovery and disposition documentation, including agent assignments, asset records, and condition reports.
  • Oversee asset inspections, condition assessments, cleaning, staging, and photography to support accurate valuation and sale readiness.
  • Provide asset valuation estimates based on market conditions, asset condition, recovery objectives, and disposition strategy.
  • Provide regular status updates, recovery timelines, and disposition reporting to banking partners.
  • Maintain accurate and auditable records in CRM systems from intake through final sale.
  • Collaborate with auction, sales, and operations teams to ensure assets are marketed and disposed of efficiently.
  • Support leadership and marketing by sourcing, reviewing, and analyzing inbound opportunities, including bankruptcy‑related leads and recovery pipelines.
  • Assist with proposal preparation and responses to RFPs to expand MachineryMax’s banking and financial services book of business.
Qualifications
  • Experience in asset recovery, financial asset disposition, remarketing, logistics, or auction operations.
  • Direct experience working with banks, lenders, or financial institutions in an operational or client‑facing role.
  • Strong understanding of recovery workflows, disposition timelines, and documentation requirements including UCC filings, appraisals, and settlement coordination.
  • High attention to detail with an emphasis on accuracy, compliance, and recordkeeping.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting and partner interaction.
  • Ability to manage multiple active assets and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Experience with CRM systems and standard business tools.
  • Must maintain confidentiality and adhere to partner and regulatory requirements.
  • Familiarity with industrial equipment or machinery is a strong plus.
  • Strong relationship‑building skills with banks and financial institutions.
  • Confidence, professionalism, and persistence when working through complex recovery or distressed asset situations.
  • Bonus: experience working with debtors or repossession scenarios.
  • Bonus: American Society of Appraisers (ASA) certification.

  • Medical and Dental Insurance to support your health and wellness.
  • Retirement Plan (401k) to help you plan for the future.
  • Responsible Paid Time Off for a healthy work‑life balance.
