Banking Specialist I
This position, Banking Specialist I, may also be called by various other titles such as Teller, Client Service Representative, Member Services, etc. At First Bank, we refer to you as a "specialist" because that reflects your role! You will be the front line or first point of contact, providing client service for our clients, and you will specialize in the products and services that help our clients meet their current and future financial needs.
What You Will Be Doing
- Supporting our Bank's culture and client-friendly environment by greeting clients with a courteous and friendly demeanor, including greeting clients by name when possible.
- Processing client transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, payments, check cashing, etc., courteously, accurately, and efficiently to ensure continued relationships with our clients.
- Explaining the benefits of alternative delivery systems like Online Banking, Online Bill Pay, ATM network, Debit Card, and Client Contact Center to expand their use.
- Following all security, regulatory, and audit procedures to protect the interests of the Bank and our clients, including daily balancing of teller drawers, ATM, and vault if needed, maintaining proper dual control, and reporting out-of-balance conditions immediately.
- Maintaining and increasing your knowledge of all Bank products through training, branch meetings, and corporate communications.
- Contributing to the Bank's success by identifying sales opportunities and referring clients to the appropriate department, working towards achieving branch and individual sales and referral goals.
- Building relationships with clients and retail store associates, encouraging consideration of other Bank products that may benefit the clients' needs, thereby driving branch profitability and client satisfaction.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Minimum of 12 months previous client service experience preferred
- Previous cash-handling experience required
- Previous banking experience strongly preferred
- NLMS registration preferred
- Strong customer service skills, including written and verbal communication
- Proficiency in using a PC and alpha/numeric keyboard
- Flexible work schedule, which may include Saturdays
