Job Description

Bank Sterile Services Technician - Weekends

We are inviting applications for the position of Bank Sterile Services Technician. This is a bank position, working on an ad-hoc basis, based at Ramsay Sterile Services East Midlands in Kettering, Northamptonshire.

In April 2023, we opened a new Decontamination Hub in Kettering. We are seeking experienced TSSU Drivers to join our busy team. The new purpose-built, state-of-the-art unit provides efficient decontamination services to 9 Ramsay Hospital sites and operates 24/7. We are looking for a committed individual to work shifts over the weekend, day or night.

We seek a competent individual interested in flexible working, with availability for shifts as needed in the hub. Please note, on a Bank contract, shift patterns are not fixed, making this a great opportunity for current Bank workers or those seeking additional hours. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic and motivated, with at least 2 years of experience in decontamination of reusable medical devices or completed a recognized decontamination course (NVQ/TVQ/Technical Certificate). We encourage career development and welcome informal visits to meet the team.

The successful applicant must have:

  • At least 2 years’ experience as a Decontamination Technician in a healthcare setting
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team
  • Good computer skills (MS Office)
  • Flexibility and adaptability
  • Customer service skills
  • Willingness to work occasional night shifts after gaining competence

Key responsibilities include:

Carrying out the full decontamination cycle on re-usable medical devices (surgical instruments) to the highest standards, following all Ramsay policies and procedures. Participating in quality control processes and ensuring accurate documentation at all times.

What is a Bank Contract:

What we offer:

  • Competitive hourly rates plus enhancements
