Job summary

The First National Bank of Fort Smith seeks a branch operations associate to support daily retail services and develop deposits by engaging with customers and the community. You will open accounts, cross-sell bank services, and ensure exceptional service while maintaining branch security and operations.

Ideal candidates have at least a college degree or 3 years in retail banking, with knowledge of banking regulations, and strong communication, problem-solving, and sales skills.

Qualifications

• College education preferred but not required.
• Minimum of a college degree or 3 years’ experience in a retail banking environment, including supervisory and business development/sales experience or training.
• Working knowledge of banking regulations and procedures.
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers and prospective customers by opening new accounts and cross-selling additional bank services.

• Handle complaints and objections with customers and staff.
• Monitor cash balances of tellers and vault; oversee teller procedures and transactions.
• Balance and maintain ATM operations.

• Engage in business development and customer relationship activities within the branch market.
• Lead or contribute to branch deposit growth and refer all retail products and services.
• Plan community engagement events and participate in outside outreach to grow deposits.

POSITION SUMMARY

A member of a team responsible for the daily retail operations of the branch office. This includes helping customers with all their retail banking needs while providing excellent customer service. This position will have an equally important role responsible for developing bank deposits and other bank product and service referrals by engaging with existing customers, prospects, and the community.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

• Assist customers and prospective customers by opening new accounts and cross-selling additional bank services
• Set the example of exceptional customer service, going above expectations to serve customers and overall enthusiasm for taking care of customers (external and internal).
• Work directly with customers and/or associates to handle complaints and objections.
• Monitoring of cash balances of all tellers and vault
• Monitoring and overseeing all teller procedures and transactions (balancing, bait money, what checks to cash, initials on transaction, etc.)
• Responsible for balancing and maintenance on ATM
• Responsible for assisting the Community President with overall branch security, and adherence to policy and procedures.
• Responsible for assisting the Community President with maintenance of building and equipment to maintain clean, neat, and orderly appearance of branch and to include maintaining proper inventory and storage of supplies.
• Engage in business development and customer relationship activities within the branch market.
• Maintain a sales culture in the branch location by leading or assisting in setting goals for branch deposit and account growth.
• Sell/refer all retail products and services.
• Assist the Community President with developing and executing plans to engage with the community, host bank events, attend community events, and utilize time out of the bank to grow the branch deposits while looking for referrals for other bank products and services.
