Job summary

First American's ServiceMac is seeking a detail-oriented accounting professional to reconcile GSE and asset bank accounts and verify daily activity against servicing system and investor reports. You will collaborate with internal teams to ensure processes align with guidelines, assist audit requests, and support reporting improvements.

A High School diploma or equivalent with 2+ years in investor accounting is required, with some college preferred.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience, including investor accounting and/or reporting.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and government regulations.
  • Strong analytical and resolution skills.
  • Proficiency in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to present information clearly to internal and external sources.
  • Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization.
  • Great attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Reconcile assigned GSE and asset bank accounts and loan activity timely, following policies.
  • Balance daily cashbook to identify remittance differences between servicing system and reports.
  • Validate bank statement activity against servicing system and GSE reports.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure processes align with guidelines.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with internal and external groups to resolve issues.
  • Assist in reviewing and responding to audit exam requests (internal, external, investor, regulatory).
  • Generate error log reports and escalate process breaks to stakeholders.
  • Review payment applications for compliance with investor and Company guidelines.
  • Perform analysis and reviews on new reporting formats or proposed changes to reconciliation requirements.
  • Interact with departmental personnel to implement new servicing/reporting requirements.
  • Assist in maintaining policies and procedures per company and investor guidelines.

Validate system activity to daily bank activity utilizing various investor and system reports, including GSE forms and schedules. Follow processes to ensure regulatory compliance, minimize company risk for monetary loss, legal action, and charge offs. Participate in audit exams. Work closely with internal teams to align processes and guidelines.Requires a solid understanding of area of specialization. Resolves a wide range of issues with detailed research.
