Job summary

Hingham Institution for Savings in Massachusetts is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to lead the Bank's financial accounting, reporting and treasury functions. You will advise the senior management on capital planning, liquidity and strategy, and oversee audits, risk management and regulatory compliance.

This in-office role requires a strong banking background, experience as a CFO in a regulated environment, and a track record of improving efficiency, governance, and financial performance.

Qualifications

• Experience as CFO in a publicly traded, mutual or private bank.
• Deep knowledge of funds management, lending, GAAP, and asset/liability management.
• Proven ability to lead financial accounting, reporting and treasury functions.
• Strong governance, risk management and regulatory compliance experience.

Responsibilities

• Manages the general ledger and oversees internal, regulatory and public financial reporting.
• Reports on the Bank's financial position to senior leaders and the Board.
• Prepares financial projections and annual budgets, maintaining the Bank-wide budget program.
• Oversees external audits and FDICIA/SOX internal controls testing.
• Develops policies for asset/liability, liquidity, investments and accounting per GAAP.
• Monitors the investment portfolio and approves transactions within guidelines.
• Manages wholesale funding and interest rate risk to optimize cost of funds.
• Oversees IRR/ALM program and funding strategy evaluation.
