Job summary

Saica Pack Anderson in Anderson, Indiana is hiring a Bander / Palletizer Operator. You will palletize, strap, shrink-wrap and ensure labels are correct, following strict quality and safety procedures.

Experience in corrugated packaging is preferred or willingness to learn. You’ll work in a manufacturing setting with potential for training others and contributing to continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Carry out palletizing, strapping and shrink wrapping according to quality and safety procedures.
• Ensure adherence to Quality, Safety, Environment and Food Control policies.
• Keep the work area clean and tidy.
• Verify packaging parameters (pressure, tension) on finished boxes.
• Feed pallets into the line and place edge protectors as instructed.
• Label finished products correctly and record wastage/units in the system.
• Understand machine operation and follow procedures for optimal performance.
• Train colleagues as directed by Management.
• Perform product quality controls and comply with regulations.
• Inform superior of any anomalies regarding product, machine, or methods.
• Carry out preventive maintenance tasks as per instructions.
• Ensure correct use of machines and tools; cooperate with supervisors.
• Adhere to work procedures and standards in the instructions.

Saica Pack Anderson is currently hiring for a Bander / Palletizer Operator

Essential Job Functions:

To carry out palletizing, strapping and shrink wrapping, according to the established quality and safety procedures.

Main tasks/functions/responsibilities:

• To comply with Quality, Safety, Environment and Food Control policies.
• To keep work area clean and tidy.
• To check that the process of strapping and shrink-wrapping finished boxes meets the order specifications (in terms of pressure, tension, etc.)
• To feed the line of pallets with the strapping it requires.
• To place edge protectors, top protections, etc. and the pallet according to the order instructions.
• To ensure that all finished products are correctly labelled.
• To check, identify and record in the computer system all of the parameters required by the system (wastage, units, etc.)
• To know how the machine operates and the procedures to be followed so that tasks are carried out in an optimum manner.
• To train people in the tasks that the job involves, as determined by Management.
• To carry out the established product quality controls and comply with all applicable regulations.
• To inform their immediate superior of any anomalies in relation to the product, machine, safety or methods.
• To carry out the pre-determined preventive maintenance tasks in line with work instructions.
• To be responsible for the correct use of the machine and tools.
• To collaborate with their immediate superior in the tasks considered opportune.
• To adhere to the work procedures and standards defined in the work instructions.

Manufacturing Environment

Physical Requirement: In addition to normal walking, hearing, and seeing, may frequently be required to grasp/hold tools and perform fine hand manipulation using QC and hand tools. There may be long periods of time spent standing at the production lines. May occasionally sit, twist, bend, squat, stoop, crouch, kneel, reach, speak, smell, and lift up to 40 lbs during the course of the day.

Safety Requirement: May be required to wear common protective or safety equipment such as masks, safety shoes, glasses, gloves, or hearing protection depending on the manufacturing area per company policy.

Environmental Factors: Indoors, climate controlled. Some areas may have exposure to contaminant smells, and/or have distracting noise levels.
