Job summary

Colonial Group in Northampton, MA is seeking a 2nd shift warehouse/manufacturing operator to handle pallet centering, banding, and conveying tasks. You will input data, ensure customer specifications are met, and maintain a safe, organized work area.

The role requires at least a high school diploma or GED, 2 years in a manufacturing or warehouse setting, and US work authorization. Overtime availability and packaging experience are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate pallet centering device, auto banding software, two stage banding units, and conveying system.
• Input and retrieve information from system.
• Maintain neat, orderly, and safe area and follow safety rules.
• Read factory card and execute customer requirements for finishing units for delivery.
• Add proper dunnage and load tags per customer specs.
• Maintain inventories of dunnage in various sizes.
• Communicate with maintenance or supervisor about needed repairs.
• Monitor the quality of output and report issues to supervisor.
• Perform other duties as needed.
• This job is for 2nd shift, 3pm - 11pm.

Job description

• Operate pallet centering device, auto banding software , two stage banding units, and conveying system.
• Perform basic computer functions to input and retrieve information from system.
• Operate equipment at a pace to avoid gridlock of upstream production equipment.
• Read factory card and execute customer requirement/specification for finishing units for delivery.
• Add proper dunnage to protect customer product and load tags per customer specs.
• Maintain inventories of dunnage in various sizes.
• Communicate with maintenance department or supervisor any needed repairs.
• Monitor the quality of output from the machine, communicating back to supervisor any issues.
• Maintain neat, orderly, and safe area.
• Adhere to all safety and work rules, company policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties, as needed.

This job is for 2nd shift, 3pm - 11pm

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability and willingness to work overtime on short notice, both during the week and weekends.
• 2 years experience working in a manufacturing or warehouse environment
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience in a packaging or other manufacturing environment.
